How to replace welding torch consumables?

MIG welding torch consumables include nozzle, contact tip, gas diffuser, insulator and liner. Follow the step-by-step replacement guide below:
Step 1: Cut off power and gas supply
Turn off the welding machine and close the shielding gas valve first to avoid electric shock and gas leakage during disassembly. Wait until the torch head cools down completely.
Step 2: Remove the outer nozzle
Grip the metal nozzle and twist it counterclockwise to unscrew it from the torch neck. Clean accumulated spatter or replace it if deformed, cracked or blocked.
Step 3: Take out the contact tip
Unscrew the contact tip from the center of the gas diffuser.
Replace the tip if the hole is worn oval, jammed or mismatched with welding wire diameter (0.8mm/1.0mm/1.2mm).
Select a new tip with the exact inner diameter matching your welding wire.
Step 4: Inspect and replace the gas diffuser & insulator
Unscrew the gas diffuser. Check for cracks, thread damage or blocked gas holes. Replace it if gas leaks occur.
The white insulating sleeve between diffuser and nozzle prevents short circuit; replace it once burnt or broken.
Step 5: Replace the liner (long-term maintenance)
Unscrew the torch rear connector and pull the old liner out from the cable end.
Cut the new liner to the same length as the original one.
Thread welding wire through the new liner, push it fully into the torch cable, then lock the rear plug.
Match liner inner diameter to welding wire; use special PTFE liner for aluminum wire.
Step 6: Reassemble all parts in reverse order
Screw the new gas diffuser tightly onto the torch neck.
Install the insulating sleeve, then twist the new matched contact tip onto the diffuser.
Screw the clean or new outer nozzle clockwise until fixed firmly.
Restore the rear connector if you replaced the liner.
Step 7: Test before formal welding
Turn on gas and power, trigger the torch to check:
Smooth wire feeding without jamming
No gas leakage around the torch head
Stable arc without heavy spatter
